Description
DECR1 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT3B2AT] (CPAB0246)
The DECR1 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0246) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the DECR1 protein, which is involved in fatty acid metabolism and energy production within cells. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity specifically with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the DECR1 protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its expression in various cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in metabolism, cellular biology, and mitochondrial function.DECR1, also known as 2,4-dienoyl-CoA reductase, plays a crucial role in the beta-oxidation pathway of fatty acid metabolism, enabling cells to generate energy from fatty acids.
Dysregulation of DECR1 has been implicated in metabolic disorders such as fatty liver disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. By investigating the function and expression of DECR1, researchers can gain valuable insights into metabolic processes and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for metabolic conditions.Overall, the DECR1 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable reagent for studying the role of DECR1 in cellular metabolism and energy production, offering valuable insights for researchers in the fields of metabolism, biochemistry, and metabolic diseases.

Background: | DECR1 is a mitochondrial protein which exists as a homotetramer and is a member of a family of short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases. DECR1 acts as an auxiliary enzyme of beta-oxidation andt partakes in the metabolism of unsaturated fatty enoyl-CoA esters. in particular, DECR1 uses NADP+ to catalyze the reduction of 2,4-dienoyl-CoA to yield trans-3-enoyl-CoA that can subsequently be used as an intermediate in the Krebs cycle. Furthermore, DECR1 is believed to work as a tumor suppressor, possibly downregulating the expression of Neu and slowing the rate of tumorigenesis. |
