The DDX17 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17078) is a valuable tool for researchers studying DDX17, a crucial protein involved in RNA metabolism and gene expression regulation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity towards human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the DDX17 protein, this antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze DDX17 expression in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in molecular biology and cancer research.
DDX17, also known as a DEAD-box RNA helicase, plays a significant role in RNA processing and is implicated in various cellular processes, including RNA splicing, translation, and RNA degradation. Its involvement in gene regulation makes it a promising target for investigation in diseases like cancer and developmental disorders. Understanding the function of DDX17 is critical for unraveling its role in RNA metabolism and identifying potential therapeutic targets for associated conditions.

DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and splicesosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. This gene encodes a DEAD box protein, which is an ATPase activated by a variety of RNA species, but not by dsDNA. This protein, and that encoded by DDX5 gene, are more closely related to each other than to any other member of the DEAD box family. This gene can encode multiple isoforms due to both alternative splicing and the use of alternative translation initiation codons, including a non-AUG (CUG) start codon.
