The DDIT3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB11346) is a valuable tool for research involving DNA damage-inducible transcript 3 (DDIT3), also known as CHOP, a key regulator of cellular stress response pathways. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the DDIT3 protein, researchers can easily detect and analyze its expression in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in molecular biology and cancer research.
DDIT3 is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in the cellular response to various stress signals, including endoplasmic reticulum stress and oxidative stress. Dysregulation of DDIT3 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and metabolic disorders. Understanding the function of DDIT3 is essential for uncovering its role in these diseases and developing targeted therapies that can modulate its activity for therapeutic benefit.

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 1-100 of human DDIT3/CHOP (NP_004074.2).
This gene encodes a member of the CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein (C/EBP) family of transcription factors. The protein functions as a dominant-negative inhibitor by forming heterodimers with other C/EBP members, such as C/EBP and LAP (liver activator protein), and preventing their DNA binding activity. The protein is implicated in adipogenesis and erythropoiesis, is activated by endoplasmic reticulum stress, and promotes apoptosis. Fusion of this gene and FUS on chromosome 16 or EWSR1 on chromosome 22 induced by translocation generates chimeric proteins in myxoid liposarcomas or Ewing sarcoma. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two isoforms with different length have been identified.
