The DDC Polyclonal Antibody (CAB3828) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the DDC protein, an enzyme involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the DDC protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of DDC levels in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in neuroscience and neurology research. The DDC enzyme plays a crucial role in the production of neurotransmitters that are essential for proper brain function and neurotransmission. Dysregulation of DDC activity has been linked to various neurological disorders, including Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia.
By understanding the function and regulation of DDC, researchers can gain insights into the pathogenesis of these disorders and potentially develop new therapeutic strategies targeting DDC activity.Overall, the DDC Polyclonal Antibody (CAB3828) provides researchers with a valuable tool for investigating the role of DDC in neurobiology and neurodegenerative diseases. Its high reactivity and specificity make it a reliable choice for studies aiming to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying neurotransmitter synthesis and neurotransmission in the brain.
Product Name:
DDC Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB3828
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-137 of human DDC (NP_000781.2).
The encoded protein catalyzes the decarboxylation of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) to dopamine, L-5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin and L-tryptophan to tryptamine. Defects in this gene are the cause of aromatic L-amino-acid decarboxylase deficiency (AADCD). AADCD deficiency is an inborn error in neurotransmitter metabolism that leads to combined serotonin and catecholamine deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
Purification Method:
Affinity purification
