The DCXR Polyclonal Antibody (CAB4721) is a powerful tool for research involving DCXR, a key enzyme involved in the pentose phosphate pathway and implicated in various metabolic and disease processes. This antibody, generated in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the DCXR protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in metabolism, cancer, and other diseases.
DCXR plays a crucial role in the metabolism of sugars and is involved in processes such as cell proliferation and antioxidant defense. Dysregulation of DCXR activity has been associated with cancer progression, diabetes, and other metabolic disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic intervention. By studying the function of DCXR, researchers can gain valuable insights into disease mechanisms and potentially identify new strategies for treatment.

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-244 of human DCXR (NP_057370.1).
The protein encoded by this gene acts as a homotetramer to catalyze diacetyl reductase and L-xylulose reductase reactions. The encoded protein may play a role in the uronate cycle of glucose metabolism and in the cellular osmoregulation in the proximal renal tubules. Defects in this gene are a cause of pentosuria. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
