The Cytokeratin 8 Polyclonal Antibody (AB12345) is specifically designed for research involving cytokeratin 8, a protein that is commonly used as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has been extensively validated for use in immunohistochemistry applications and shows high specificity and sensitivity in detecting cytokeratin 8 in human tissue samples.Cytokeratin 8 is a type II intermediate filament protein that is expressed in epithelial cells and is involved in maintaining the structural integrity of these cells. Aberrant expression of cytokeratin 8 has been linked to various cancers, including breast, lung, and ovarian cancer, making it a valuable marker for identifying tumor cells and monitoring disease progression.
By using the Cytokeratin 8 Polyclonal Antibody in their research, scientists can gain valuable insights into the role of cytokeratin 8 in cancer development and progression. This antibody allows for precise and reliable detection of cytokeratin 8, making it an essential tool for studies investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer and for developing new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for cancer treatment.

This gene is a member of the type II keratin family clustered on the long arm of chromosome 12. Type I and type II keratins heteropolymerize to form intermediate-sized filaments in the cytoplasm of epithelial cells. The product of this gene typically dimerizes with keratin 18 to form an intermediate filament in simple single-layered epithelial cells. This protein plays a role in maintaining cellular structural integrity and also functions in signal transduction and cellular differentiation. Mutations in this gene cause cryptogenic cirrhosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.
