The CYP4F12 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7993) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Cytochrome P450 4F12, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of various compounds including fatty acids and xenobiotics. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the CYP4F12 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential resource for research in drug metabolism, toxicology, and pharmacology.Cytochrome P450 4F12 plays a crucial role in the biotransformation of endogenous and exogenous substances, making it a key player in the detoxification and elimination of foreign compounds from the body.
Its impact on drug metabolism and response to environmental toxins makes it a promising target for investigations into drug-drug interactions, as well as understanding individual variability in drug metabolism. By studying the function of CYP4F12, researchers can gain insights into potential drug targets and novel therapeutic approaches for a range of diseases and disorders.

This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein likely localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum. When expressed in yeast the enzyme is capable of oxdizing arachidonic acid. It can also catalyze the epoxidation of 22:6n-3 and 22:5n-3 polyunsaturated long-chain fatty acids. This gene is part of a cluster of cytochrome P450 genes on chromosome 19. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
