Description
CYP2C19 Antibody (PACO55450)
The CYP2C19 Monoclonal Antibody (PAC055450) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the cytochrome P450 2C19 enzyme, which plays a crucial role in drug metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for detecting CYP2C19 in human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA assays. With its ability to bind specifically to CYP2C19, this antibody enables researchers to analyze the expression and function of this enzyme in various cell types and tissues. This is particularly important in pharmacogenomics research, as variations in CYP2C19 activity can impact drug efficacy and toxicity in patients.
By studying the role of CYP2C19 in drug metabolism, researchers can better understand individual responses to medications and tailor treatment plans for improved patient outcomes. Overall, the CYP2C19 Monoclonal Antibody (PAC055450) is a valuable tool for investigating the biological functions of the CYP2C19 enzyme and its implications for personalized medicine and drug development. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a reliable option for researchers working in the fields of pharmacology, toxicology, and personalized medicine.

IHC image of PACO55450 diluted at 1:400 and staining in paraffin-embedded human liver cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. | |

NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and is known to metabolize many xenobiotics, including the anticonvulsive drug mephenytoin, omeprazole, diazepam and some barbiturates. Polymorphism within this gene is associated with variable ability to metabolize mephenytoin, known as the poor metabolizer and extensive metabolizer phenotypes. The gene is located within a cluster of cytochrome P450 genes on chromosome 10q24. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
