Description
CYP27A1 Monoclonal Antibody (CAB23250)
The CYP27A1 Monoclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the cytochrome P450 family member CYP27A1, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of cholesterol and bile acid synthesis. This antibody, generated using advanced monoclonal antibody technology, specifically targets the CYP27A1 protein and is highly reactive with human samples.CYP27A1 plays a crucial role in maintaining cholesterol homeostasis and bile acid synthesis, making it a key player in lipid metabolism. Dysregulation of CYP27A1 activity has been linked to various metabolic disorders, including atherosclerosis and gallstone formation.
By using this monoclonal antibody in research, scientists can gain valuable insights into the functions and regulation of CYP27A1 in health and disease.Validated for use in a variety of applications, including Western blotting and immunohistochemistry, the CYP27A1 Monoclonal Antibody offers researchers a reliable and specific tool for studying this important enzyme. Whether investigating mechanisms of cholesterol metabolism or exploring potential therapeutic targets for metabolic disorders, this antibody is an essential addition to any research laboratory focused on lipid biology and metabolic pathways.

This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This mitochondrial protein oxidizes cholesterol intermediates as part of the bile synthesis pathway. Since the conversion of cholesterol to bile acids is the major route for removing cholesterol from the body, this protein is important for overall cholesterol homeostasis. Mutations in this gene cause cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis, a rare autosomal recessive lipid storage disease.
