The CYP24A1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1805) is a valuable tool for studying the CYP24A1 enzyme, which plays a crucial role in the regulation of vitamin D metabolism. This polyclonal antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the CYP24A1 protein, this antibody allows for the accurate detection and analysis of CYP24A1 expression in various cell types.CYP24A1 is an essential enzyme involved in the catabolism of active vitamin D metabolites, thus regulating the levels of vitamin D in the body.
Dysregulation of CYP24A1 activity has been linked to various diseases and conditions, including vitamin D-related disorders, cancer, and autoimmune diseases. Research into the function and regulation of CYP24A1 is critical for understanding these diseases and developing potential therapeutic interventions.Overall, the CYP24A1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1805) offers researchers a reliable tool for investigating the role of CYP24A1 in vitamin D metabolism and disease pathogenesis, making it a valuable asset for studies in the fields of endocrinology, oncology, and immunology.

This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This mitochondrial protein initiates the degradation of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, the physiologically active form of vitamin D3, by hydroxylation of the side chain. In regulating the level of vitamin D3, this enzyme plays a role in calcium homeostasis and the vitamin D endocrine system. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
