The Cytochrome P450 1B1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1377) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the cytochrome P450 family of enzymes, specifically focusing on the 1B1 isoform. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot applications.Cytochrome P450 1B1 is involved in the metabolism of various endogenous and exogenous compounds, playing a crucial role in drug metabolism and detoxification processes in the body. Dysregulation of this enzyme has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, where it can impact drug efficacy and contribute to tumor progression.
By using the Cytochrome P450 1B1 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can detect and analyze the expression of this important enzyme in different cell types, aiding in the exploration of its function in health and disease. This antibody is an essential tool for investigators in the fields of pharmacology, toxicology, and cancer research seeking to understand the role of cytochrome P450 1B1 in drug metabolism and disease development.

This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. The enzyme encoded by this gene localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and metabolizes procarcinogens such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and 17beta-estradiol. Mutations in this gene have been associated with primary congenital glaucoma; therefore it is thought that the enzyme also metabolizes a signaling molecule involved in eye development, possibly a steroid.
