The Cytochrome P450 1A2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0062) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the Cytochrome P450 enzyme family, specifically the 1A2 isoform. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for detecting Cytochrome P450 1A2 in human samples. Validated for use in Western blot applications, it enables precise detection and analysis of the enzyme in various cell types.Cytochrome P450 1A2 is known for its role in drug metabolism, particularly in the oxidation of xenobiotics and environmental toxins.
It is also involved in the activation of procarcinogens and drugs. Research on this enzyme is crucial for understanding drug-drug interactions, personalized medicine, and drug toxicity. The Cytochrome P450 1A2 Polyclonal Antibody opens up new possibilities for investigating the function and regulation of this important enzyme in pharmacology and toxicology research.

This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. The protein encoded by this gene localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and its expression is induced by some polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), some of which are found in cigarette smoke. The enzyme's endogenous substrate is unknown; however, it is able to metabolize some PAHs to carcinogenic intermediates. Other xenobiotic substrates for this enzyme include caffeine, aflatoxin B1, and acetaminophen. The transcript from this gene contains four Alu sequences flanked by direct repeats in the 3' untranslated region.
