The CYP11A1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1713) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP11A1. This antibody, raised in rabbits, has high specificity and sensitivity for detecting CYP11A1 in human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CYP11A1 protein, this antibody enables researchers to study the expression and activity of this crucial enzyme in various cell types.CYP11A1 is an essential enzyme in the biosynthesis of steroid hormones, playing a key role in the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone, a precursor for the production of steroid hormones such as cortisol, aldosterone, and sex hormones.
Dysregulation of CYP11A1 activity has been implicated in various diseases, including disorders of steroid hormone metabolism and certain types of cancer. By studying CYP11A1 using this antibody, researchers can gain insights into its function and potential roles in disease processes.Overall, the CYP11A1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1713) is a valuable tool for scientists conducting research in endocrinology, steroid hormone biology, and related fields. Its ability to specifically detect CYP11A1 in human samples makes it a reliable choice for studies investigating the role of this enzyme in health and disease.

This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the mitochondrial inner membrane and catalyzes the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone, the first and rate-limiting step in the synthesis of the steroid hormones. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. The cellular location of the smaller isoform is unclear since it lacks the mitochondrial-targeting transit peptide.
