Western Blot. Positive WB detected in: SH-SY5Y whole cell lysate, HepG2 whole cell lysate, NIH/3T3 whole cell lysate, Rat brain tissue, Rat liver tissue, Rat kidney tissue, Mouse brain tissue. All lanes: CUX1 antibody at 3.7µg/ml. Secondary. Goat polyclonal to rabbit IgG at 1/50000 dilution. Predicted band size: 78, 73, 165, 162, 166, 154, 158, 148, 76 kDa. Observed band size: 78 kDa. | |
IHC image of PACO58120 diluted at 1:200 and staining in paraffin-embedded human brain tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. |
Background: | May be involved in intra-Golgi retrograde transport. |
Synonyms: | Protein CASP, CUX1, CUTL1 |
UniProt Protein Function: | CUTL1 iso1: Probably has a broad role in mammalian development as a repressor of developmentally regulated gene expression. May act by preventing binding of positively-activing CCAAT factors to promoters. Component of nf-munr repressor; binds to the matrix attachment regions (MARs) (5' and 3') of the immunoglobulin heavy chain enhancer. Represses T-cell receptor (TCR) beta enhancer function by binding to MARbeta, an ATC-rich DNA sequence located upstream of the TCR beta enhancer. Belongs to the CUT homeobox family. 8 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Transcription factor; Membrane protein, integral; DNA-binding Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q22.1 Cellular Component: cytosol; Golgi apparatus; nucleoplasm; nucleus Molecular Function:protein-tyrosine kinase activity; sequence-specific DNA binding Biological Process: multicellular organismal development; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; positive regulation of dendrite morphogenesis; regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter |
NCBI Summary: | The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the homeodomain family of DNA binding proteins. It may regulate gene expression, morphogenesis, and differentiation and it may also play a role in the cell cycle progession. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011] |
