The CTSK Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5871) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Cathepsin K, an important enzyme involved in bone resorption and turnover. This antibody, developed in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to Cathepsin K, the antibody enables accurate detection and analysis of this enzyme in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and other bone-related diseases.Cathepsin K is a key player in the breakdown of bone tissue, and dysregulation of its activity has been implicated in various skeletal disorders.
By targeting Cathepsin K, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these conditions and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for developing treatments. The CTSK Polyclonal Antibody offers a reliable tool for investigating the role of Cathepsin K in bone metabolism and disease progression, ultimately advancing our understanding of skeletal health and potential treatment options.
Product Name:
CTSK Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB5871
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 115-329 of human CTSK (NP_000387.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase involved in bone remodeling and resorption. This protein, which is a member of the peptidase C1 protein family, is predominantly expressed in osteoclasts. However, the encoded protein is also expressed in a significant fraction of human breast cancers, where it could contribute to tumor invasiveness. Mutations in this gene are the cause of pycnodysostosis, an autosomal recessive disease characterized by osteosclerosis and short stature.
