Description
CSGALNACT2 Antibody (PACO15719)
The CSGALNACT2 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC015719) is a valuable tool for research involving CSGALNACT2, an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) that are important for cell signaling and extracellular matrix structure. This antibody is produced in rabbits and has high reactivity with human samples, making it ideal for Western blot applications. CSGALNACT2 plays a crucial role in the modification of proteoglycans, which are involved in various cellular processes such as cell adhesion, growth factor binding, and signaling.
Dysregulation of CSGALNACT2 has been implicated in diseases like cancer and musculoskeletal disorders. By using this antibody to detect CSGALNACT2, researchers can better understand its function and potentially develop targeted therapies for associated conditions. Overall, the CSGALNACT2 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for studying the role of CSGALNACT2 in health and disease, with potential applications in research areas such as oncology, musculoskeletal biology, and developmental biology.

Background: | This gene encodes a member of the chondroitin N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase family. The encoded protein is involved in elongation during chondroitin sulfate synthesis. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome X. Transfers 1,4-N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) from UDP-GalNAc to the non-reducing end of glucuronic acid, (GlcUA). Required for addition of the first GalNAc to the core tetrasaccharide linker and for elongation of chondroitin chains. |
Synonyms: | chondroitin sulfate N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 2 |
UniProt Protein Function: | GALNACT2: Transfers 1,4-N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) from UDP- GalNAc to the non-reducing end of glucuronic acid (GlcUA). Required for addition of the first GalNAc to the core tetrasaccharide linker and for elongation of chondroitin chains. Belongs to the chondroitin N- acetylgalactosaminyltransferase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |
