Description
CSGALNACT2 Antibody (PACO15718)
The CSGALNACT2 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC015718) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CSGALNACT2, a key enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans. This antibody, produced in rabbits, shows high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.CSGALNACT2 plays a crucial role in the regulation of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan synthesis, which is essential for numerous biological processes including cell adhesion, migration, and signaling. Dysregulation of CSGALNACT2 has been linked to various diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, making it a promising target for therapeutic development.
With the ability to specifically bind to CSGALNACT2 protein, this antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze CSGALNACT2 expression levels in different cell types, providing valuable insights into its functional role in health and disease. Its application in immunology and cancer research makes it a versatile tool for investigating the mechanisms underlying these conditions and developing targeted treatment strategies.

Background: | This gene encodes a member of the chondroitin N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase family. The encoded protein is involved in elongation during chondroitin sulfate synthesis. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome X. Transfers 1,4-N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) from UDP-GalNAc to the non-reducing end of glucuronic acid, (GlcUA). Required for addition of the first GalNAc to the core tetrasaccharide linker and for elongation of chondroitin chains. |
Synonyms: | chondroitin sulfate N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 2 |
UniProt Protein Function: | GALNACT2: Transfers 1,4-N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) from UDP- GalNAc to the non-reducing end of glucuronic acid (GlcUA). Required for addition of the first GalNAc to the core tetrasaccharide linker and for elongation of chondroitin chains. Belongs to the chondroitin N- acetylgalactosaminyltransferase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |
