Description
CRYAA Monoclonal Antibody [Pc9F2AT] (CPAB0279)
The Cryaa Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0279) is a vital tool for researchers studying Cryaa, a key protein involved in eye development and function. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits strong reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in a variety of applications, including Western blot and immunohistochemistry. By specifically binding to the Cryaa protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in different cell types, making it an invaluable resource for studies in ophthalmology and vision research.
Cryaa, also known as Alpha-crystallin A chain, is essential for maintaining lens transparency and preventing cataract formation. Dysregulation of Cryaa has been implicated in various eye disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions aimed at preserving vision and treating conditions such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. By elucidating the role of Cryaa in eye health, researchers can pave the way for innovative treatments and preventative strategies in the field of ophthalmology.

Background: | Alpha crystallins are composed of two gene products ; alpha-A and alpha-B, for acidic and basic, respectively. Alpha crystallins can be induced by heat shock and are members of the small heat shock protein (sHSP also known as the HSP20). They act as molecular chaperones and hold them in large soluble aggregates. These heterogeneous aggregates consist of 30-40 subunits; the alpha-A and alpha-B subunits have a 3:1 ratio, respectively. Two additional function of -crystallins are an autokinase activity and participation in the intracellular architecture. The expression of alpha-A is preferentially restricted to the lens cell. |
