The CRY2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13289) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CRY2, a key protein involved in the regulation of circadian rhythms and light sensitivity. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the CRY2 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it ideal for investigations in chronobiology and sleep research.
CRY2, also known as cryptochrome 2, is a crucial component of the circadian clock that helps regulate biological processes such as sleep-wake cycles, hormone production, and metabolism. Dysregulation of CRY2 activity has been linked to sleep disorders, mood disorders, and even certain types of cancer. By understanding the role of CRY2 in circadian rhythm control, researchers can develop targeted therapies for conditions related to disrupted sleep patterns and systemic clock dysfunction.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 455-614 of human CRY2 (NP_066940.2).
This gene encodes a flavin adenine dinucleotide-binding protein that is a key component of the circadian core oscillator complex, which regulates the circadian clock. This gene is upregulated by CLOCK/ARNTL heterodimers but then represses this upregulation in a feedback loop using PER/CRY heterodimers to interact with CLOCK/ARNTL. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with altered sleep patterns. The encoded protein is widely conserved across plants and animals. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
