The Carboxypeptidase M Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6565) is specifically designed for research involving carboxypeptidase M, a critical enzyme involved in the regulation of peptide hormone levels and neuropeptide processing. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the carboxypeptidase M protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an ideal tool for studies in endocrinology and neuroscience research.Carboxypeptidase M is a key enzyme in the degradation of regulatory peptides, such as enkephalins and alpha-MSH, and is involved in the modulation of various physiological processes, including pain perception and appetite regulation.
Its crucial role in peptide processing makes it a valuable target for investigations into disorders related to peptide hormone dysregulation, such as obesity, diabetes, and neurodegenerative diseases. Understanding the function of carboxypeptidase M is essential for the development of potential therapeutic strategies that target neuropeptide signaling pathways.

CAB6565
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 204-443 of human CPM (NP_001005502.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a membrane-bound arginine/lysine carboxypeptidase. Its expression is associated with monocyte to macrophage differentiation. This encoded protein contains hydrophobic regions at the amino and carboxy termini and has 6 potential asparagine-linked glycosylation sites. The active site residues of carboxypeptidases A and B are conserved in this protein. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described for this gene.
