The CPB2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15266) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the CPB2 protein, also known as Carboxypeptidase B2, which plays a crucial role in the regulation of blood coagulation and fibrinolysis. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity towards human samples and is validated for use in Western blotting applications.CPB2 is a key enzyme involved in the breakdown of proteins and peptides, particularly in the clotting cascade and the clearance of bradykinin, a potent vasodilator. Dysregulation of CPB2 activity has been linked to several cardiovascular disorders, making it a promising therapeutic target for conditions such as thrombosis and hypertension.
By utilizing the CPB2 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and analyze CPB2 expression levels in various cell types, shedding light on its functional roles in physiological and pathological processes. This antibody is a valuable asset for investigations in cardiovascular biology, hemostasis, and drug development aimed at modulating CPB2 activity for therapeutic benefits.

Carboxypeptidases are enzymes that hydrolyze C-terminal peptide bonds. The carboxypeptidase family includes metallo-, serine, and cysteine carboxypeptidases. According to their substrate specificity, these enzymes are referred to as carboxypeptidase A (cleaving aliphatic residues) or carboxypeptidase B (cleaving basic amino residues). The protein encoded by this gene is activated by trypsin and acts on carboxypeptidase B substrates. After thrombin activation, the mature protein downregulates fibrinolysis. Polymorphisms have been described for this gene and its promoter region. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
