The COX7B2 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC013915) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of COX7B2 in cellular respiration and mitochondrial function. COX7B2 is a subunit of cytochrome c oxidase (complex IV) in the electron transport chain, playing a crucial role in ATP production and energy metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific and reactive to human samples, making it ideal for Western blot analysis. By binding to COX7B2 protein, the antibody allows for the detection and quantification of COX7B2 levels in various cell types and tissues.
Research on COX7B2 is important for understanding mitochondrial bioenergetics and its implications in diseases such as mitochondrial disorders, metabolic syndromes, and neurodegenerative conditions. The COX7B2 Polyclonal Antibody can provide valuable insights into the function and regulation of this essential mitochondrial protein, aiding in the development of potential therapeutic strategies targeting mitochondrial dysfunction.

Background:
This protein is one of the nuclear-coded polypeptide chains of cytochrome c oxidase, the terminal oxidase in mitochondrial electron transport. The COX7B2 gene encodes an 80-residue protein and has a 499-bp mRNA transcript. The COX7B2 gene contains 3 exons and maps to chromosome 4p12. For a discussion of a possible association between variation in the COX7B2 gene and susceptibility to the development of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, see NPCA1.
Synonyms:
cytochrome c oxidase subunit VIIb2
