The COPS5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1766) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the COPS5 protein, which plays a crucial role in regulating protein degradation and cell cycle progression. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the COPS5 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in cell biology and cancer research.
COPS5, also known as ubiquitin receptor 8, is involved in the assembly of the COP9 signalosome complex, which is essential for the proper functioning of the ubiquitin-proteasome system. Dysregulation of COPS5 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions. By studying the function of COPS5, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying these diseases and potentially identify novel treatment strategies.

The protein encoded by this gene is one of the eight subunits of COP9 signalosome, a highly conserved protein complex that functions as an important regulator in multiple signaling pathways. The structure and function of COP9 signalosome is similar to that of the 19S regulatory particle of 26S proteasome. COP9 signalosome has been shown to interact with SCF-type E3 ubiquitin ligases and act as a positive regulator of E3 ubiquitin ligases. This protein is reported to be involved in the degradation of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor CDKN1B/p27Kip1. It is also known to be an coactivator that increases the specificity of JUN/AP1 transcription factors.
