The Complement Factor D Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8117) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the immune system and inflammatory responses. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is specifically designed to target Complement Factor D, a key enzyme in the alternative pathway of the complement system.Complement Factor D plays a crucial role in the activation of the complement system, which is involved in immune defense and inflammatory processes. By targeting this protein, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying immune responses and potential therapeutic targets for conditions related to dysregulated immune function.Validated for use in Western blot applications, the CAB8117 antibody shows high reactivity with human samples, enabling precise detection and analysis of Complement Factor D in a variety of cell types.
Its versatility makes it an ideal tool for studies in immunology, inflammation, and related fields, providing a deeper understanding of the complex interactions within the immune system.Researchers interested in unraveling the role of Complement Factor D in health and disease can rely on the CAB8117 antibody for accurate and reliable results. With its proven efficacy and specificity, this antibody offers a valuable resource for advancing research in immunology, inflammatory disorders, and potential therapeutic interventions.

This gene encodes a member of the S1, or chymotrypsin, family of serine peptidases. This protease catalyzes the cleavage of factor B, the rate-limiting step of the alternative pathway of complement activation. This protein also functions as an adipokine, a cell signaling protein secreted by adipocytes, which regulates insulin secretion in mice. Mutations in this gene underlie complement factor D deficiency, which is associated with recurrent bacterial meningitis infections in human patients. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. At least one of these variants encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protease.
