Description
Collagen IV Monoclonal Antibody (CAB24008)
The Collagen IV Monoclonal Antibody is a high-quality antibody designed for research involving Collagen IV, a key component of the extracellular matrix that plays a crucial role in maintaining tissue structure and function. This antibody, generated using hybridoma technology, offers high specificity and sensitivity for detecting Collagen IV in various biological samples.Collagen IV, a type of collagen found primarily in basement membranes, is essential for supporting the structural integrity of tissues and organs. Dysregulation of Collagen IV expression or function has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, fibrosis, and genetic disorders.
Therefore, studying the expression and distribution of Collagen IV is important for understanding its role in disease progression and development. The Collagen IV Monoclonal Antibody is validated for use in immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and other immunological techniques, allowing researchers to accurately detect and visualize Collagen IV in tissue sections or cell cultures. Its high affinity and specificity make it a valuable tool for investigating the role of Collagen IV in physiological and pathological processes, providing insights that may lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting Collagen IV-related diseases.

This gene encodes one of the six subunits of type IV collagen, the major structural component of basement membranes. This particular collagen IV subunit, however, is only found in a subset of basement membranes. Like the other members of the type IV collagen gene family, this gene is organized in a head-to-head conformation with another type IV collagen gene so that each gene pair shares a common promoter. Mutations in this gene are associated with type II autosomal recessive Alport syndrome (hereditary glomerulonephropathy) and with familial benign hematuria (thin basement membrane disease). Two transcripts, differing only in their transcription start sites, have been identified for this gene and, as is common for collagen genes, multiple polyadenylation sites are found in the 3' UTR.
