The COL1A1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1352) is a valuable tool for researchers studying collagen type I alpha 1 (COL1A1), a key component of the extracellular matrix that plays a critical role in tissue structure and function. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it an ideal choice for Western blot applications.COL1A1 is a major structural protein found in connective tissues such as skin, tendons, and bones, and abnormalities in its expression have been linked to various pathological conditions including fibrosis, osteogenesis imperfecta, and certain types of cancer.
By targeting COL1A1, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these diseases and potentially develop new therapeutic strategies. With its ability to detect and analyze COL1A1 in different cell types, the COL1A1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for investigations in fields such as regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and cancer biology. By furthering our understanding of COL1A1 biology, this antibody contributes to the advancement of research aimed at improving human health and well-being.

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 1151-1250 of human Collagen I/COL1A1 (NP_000079.2).
This gene encodes the pro-alpha1 chains of type I collagen whose triple helix comprises two alpha1 chains and one alpha2 chain. Type I is a fibril-forming collagen found in most connective tissues and is abundant in bone, cornea, dermis and tendon. Mutations in this gene are associated with osteogenesis imperfecta types I-IV, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type VIIA, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome Classical type, Caffey Disease and idiopathic osteoporosis. Reciprocal translocations between chromosomes 17 and 22, where this gene and the gene for platelet-derived growth factor beta are located, are associated with a particular type of skin tumor called dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, resulting from unregulated expression of the growth factor. Two transcripts, resulting from the use of alternate polyadenylation signals, have been identified for this gene.
