The Claudin-3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2946) is a vital tool for researchers studying Claudin-3, a key protein involved in tight junctions and epithelial barrier function. This antibody, developed using rabbit immunization, exhibits high reactivity specifically with human samples and has been validated for Western blot applications.Claudin-3 is known for its role in regulating paracellular permeability and maintaining tissue integrity, making it a crucial target for studies related to epithelial biology, cancer metastasis, and drug delivery mechanisms. By detecting and analyzing Claudin-3 expression in various cell types, this antibody enables researchers to gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying epithelial barrier function and disease progression.
With its ability to specifically bind to Claudin-3, the CAB2946 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable asset for researchers exploring the implications of tight junction proteins in various physiological and pathological conditions. Its use in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence assays further expands its utility in investigating the role of Claudin-3 in health and disease.

Tight junctions represent one mode of cell-to-cell adhesion in epithelial or endothelial cell sheets, forming continuous seals around cells and serving as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space. These junctions are comprised of sets of continuous networking strands in the outwardly facing cytoplasmic leaflet, with complementary grooves in the inwardly facing extracytoplasmic leaflet. The protein encoded by this intronless gene, a member of the claudin family, is an integral membrane protein and a component of tight junction strands. It is also a low-affinity receptor for Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin, and shares aa sequence similarity with a putative apoptosis-related protein found in rat.
