The Claudin-11 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2593) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the protein Claudin-11, a crucial component of tight junctions in the blood-brain barrier and testis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it a reliable option for various research applications, including Western blot.Claudin-11 is known for its role in maintaining the integrity of tight junctions within the blood-brain barrier and the Sertoli cell barrier in the testis.
Dysfunction of Claudin-11 has been implicated in various diseases, including multiple sclerosis and male infertility, making it an important target for further investigation.By using the Claudin-11 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can explore the expression and localization of Claudin-11 in different cell types and tissues, providing insights into its function and potential therapeutic implications. This antibody is a valuable tool for studies focusing on tight junctions, blood-brain barrier integrity, and reproductive biology.

This gene encodes a member of the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands. Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets, and also play critical roles in maintaining cell polarity and signal transductions. The protein encoded by this gene is a major component of central nervous system (CNS) myelin and plays an important role in regulating proliferation and migration of oligodendrocytes. Mouse studies showed that the gene deficiency results in deafness and loss of the Sertoli cell epithelial phenotype in the testis. This protein is a tight junction protein at the human blood-testis barrier (BTB), and the BTB disruption is related to a dysfunction of this gene. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
