The CKMT2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2206) is a powerful tool for researchers studying CKMT2, a key protein involved in cellular energy metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the CKMT2 protein, researchers can accurately detect and quantify its expression in various cell types, making it a valuable asset for studies in biochemistry and mitochondrial function.CKMT2, also known as mitochondrial creatine kinase, is essential for maintaining energy homeostasis in cells by facilitating the production of ATP.
Dysregulation of CKMT2 has been implicated in various diseases, including metabolic disorders and neurodegenerative conditions. By understanding the function and regulation of CKMT2, researchers can develop targeted strategies for treating these diseases and improving overall cellular health. The CKMT2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2206) is a reliable tool for investigating the role of CKMT2 in cellular metabolism and disease pathogenesis. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for researchers looking to advance our understanding of mitochondrial function and energy production.

Mitochondrial creatine kinase (MtCK) is responsible for the transfer of high energy phosphate from mitochondria to the cytosolic carrier, creatine. It belongs to the creatine kinase isoenzyme family. It exists as two isoenzymes, sarcomeric MtCK and ubiquitous MtCK, encoded by separate genes. Mitochondrial creatine kinase occurs in two different oligomeric forms: dimers and octamers, in contrast to the exclusively dimeric cytosolic creatine kinase isoenzymes. Sarcomeric mitochondrial creatine kinase has 80% homology with the coding exons of ubiquitous mitochondrial creatine kinase. This gene contains sequences homologous to several motifs that are shared among some nuclear genes encoding mitochondrial proteins and thus may be essential for the coordinated activation of these genes during mitochondrial biogenesis. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
