Creatine kinase B type (CKB) Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12631)
The CKB Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12631) is a valuable tool for researchers studying creatine kinase B (CKB), an enzyme crucial for energy metabolism in cells, particularly in muscle tissue. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high specificity and sensitivity towards CKB in human samples, making it ideal for Western blot applications.CKB is involved in the conversion of creatine and ATP to phosphocreatine and ADP, playing a key role in energy transfer in tissues with high and fluctuating energy demands, such as skeletal muscle and brain.
Dysregulation of CKB activity has been linked to various diseases, including muscular dystrophy, heart failure, and neurodegenerative disorders.By using the CKB Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and quantify CKB protein levels in different cell types and tissues, aiding in the understanding of its role in various physiological and pathological conditions. This antibody is a valuable tool for studies in cell biology, metabolism, and diseases related to CKB dysfunction.

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic enzyme involved in energy homeostasis. The encoded protein reversibly catalyzes the transfer of phosphate between ATP and various phosphogens such as creatine phosphate. It acts as a homodimer in brain as well as in other tissues, and as a heterodimer with a similar muscle isozyme in heart. The encoded protein is a member of the ATP:guanido phosphotransferase protein family. A pseudogene of this gene has been characterized.
