Description
CHSY1 Antibody (PACO08431)
The CHSY1 Polyclonal Antibody (PACO08431) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the CHSY1 protein, an enzyme involved in chondroitin sulfate synthesis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the CHSY1 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in glycobiology and matrix biology.CHSY1, also known as chondroitin synthase 1, plays a crucial role in extracellular matrix formation and cellular adhesion.
Dysregulation of CHSY1 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, osteoarthritis, and neurological disorders. Therefore, understanding the function and activity of CHSY1 is essential for developing targeted therapies and diagnostic tools for these conditions.Overall, the CHSY1 Polyclonal Antibody (PACO08431) offers researchers a reliable tool for investigating the role of CHSY1 in health and disease, paving the way for advancements in personalized medicine and therapeutic interventions.

UniProt Protein Function: | CHSY1: Has both beta-1,3-glucuronic acid and beta-1,4-N- acetylgalactosamine transferase activity. Transfers glucuronic acid (GlcUA) from UDP-GlcUA and N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) from UDP-GalNAc to the non-reducing end of the elongating chondroitin polymer. Involved in the negative control of osteogenesis likely through the modulation of NOTCH signaling. Defects in CHSY1 are the cause of Temtamy preaxial brachydactyly syndrome (TPBS). A syndrome characterized by multiple congenital anomalies, mental retardation, sensorineural deafness, talon cusps of upper central incisors, growth retardation, and bilateral symmetric digital anomalies mainly in the form of preaxial brachydactyly and hyperphalangism. Belongs to the chondroitin N- acetylgalactosaminyltransferase family. |

NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a member of the chondroitin N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase family. These enzymes possess dual glucuronyltransferase and galactosaminyltransferase activity and play critical roles in the biosynthesis of chondroitin sulfate, a glycosaminoglycan involved in many biological processes including cell proliferation and morphogenesis. Decreased expression of this gene may play a role in colorectal cancer, and mutations in this gene are a cause of temtamy preaxial brachydactyly syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011] |
