The Cholinesterase Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1460) is a valuable tool for researchers studying cholinesterase, an enzyme involved in the regulation of acetylcholine levels in the body. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.Cholinesterase is crucial for the proper functioning of the nervous system, as it breaks down acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in muscle contractions and cognitive functions. Dysregulation of cholinesterase activity has been linked to various neurological disorders, making it an important target for research in neuroscience and pharmacology.
By binding to cholinesterase, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of the enzyme in different cell types, providing valuable insights into its role in health and disease. Researchers studying conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and organophosphate poisoning can benefit from using this antibody to further their understanding of cholinesterase function and its potential as a therapeutic target.
Product Name:
BCHE Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB1460
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 29-270 of human Butyrylcholinesterase (NP_000046.1).
This gene encodes a cholinesterase enzyme and member of the type-B carboxylesterase/lipase family of proteins. The encoded enzyme exhibits broad substrate specificity and is involved in the detoxification of poisons including organophosphate nerve agents and pesticides, and the metabolism of drugs including cocaine, heroin and aspirin. Humans homozygous for certain mutations in this gene exhibit prolonged apnea after administration of the muscle relaxant succinylcholine.
