The CHMP2A Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10380) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CHMP2A, a protein involved in the endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT) machinery. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the CHMP2A protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in cell biology and molecular biology.CHMP2A is a key player in the ESCRT pathway, which plays a crucial role in endosomal trafficking, membrane budding, and cytokinesis. Dysregulation of this pathway has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and viral infections.
Therefore, understanding the function and expression of CHMP2A is essential for unraveling the mechanisms underlying these pathological conditions and may provide insights for the development of targeted therapies. In summary, the CHMP2A Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10380) is a reliable reagent for investigating the role of CHMP2A in cellular processes and disease pathogenesis. Its high specificity and versatility make it a valuable asset for researchers seeking to unravel the complexities of the ESCRT pathway and its implications in human health and disease.

CHMP2A belongs to the chromatin-modifying protein/charged multivesicular body protein (CHMP) family. These proteins are components of ESCRT-III (endosomal sorting complex required for transport III), a complex involved in degradation of surface receptor proteins and formation of endocytic multivesicular bodies (MVBs). Some CHMPs have both nuclear and cytoplasmic/vesicular distributions, and one such CHMP, CHMP1A (MIM 164010), is required for both MVB formation and regulation of cell cycle progression (Tsang et al., 2006 [PubMed 16730941]).
