Description
CHGA Monoclonal Antibody [P3A5AT] (CPAB0534)
The CHGA Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0534) is a valuable tool for researchers studying chromogranin A (CHGA), a protein involved in various physiological processes including the regulation of blood pressure and hormone secretion. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human CHGA and has been validated for use in techniques such as Western blot and immunohistochemistry.CHGA is known for its role in the neuroendocrine system, where it functions as a precursor to bioactive peptides that regulate cardiovascular function and stress responses. Dysregulation of CHGA expression has been implicated in diseases such as hypertension, heart failure, and neuroendocrine tumors, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
By using the CHGA Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can effectively detect and study CHGA expression in various cell types and tissues, providing valuable insights into its role in health and disease. This antibody is a valuable tool for investigations in cardiovascular biology, endocrinology, and cancer research, offering the potential for advancing our understanding of CHGA function and its clinical implications.

Background: | Chromgranin-A is part of the neuroendocrine secretory protein family. CHGA is located in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells. Chromgranin-A is a precursor to three biologically active peptides; vasostatin, pancreastatin, and parastatin. These peptides act as autocrine or paracrine negative modulators of the neuroendocrine system. Other peptides, including chromostatin, beta-granin, WE-14 and GE-25, are also derived from the full-length protein. Chromgranin-A has numerous biological activities on some tissues and organs and exerts a large spectrum of homeostatic actions, including antifungal and antimicrobial effect, modulation of cell adhesion, and inhibition of parathyroid hormone secretion. |
