Description
CFL1/CFL2 Antibody (PACO00619)
The CFL1/CFL2 Antibody (PACO00619) is a highly specific and sensitive tool for studying the proteins cofilin-1 (CFL1) and cofilin-2 (CFL2) in various research applications. Cofilins are essential regulators of actin dynamics, influencing cell motility, division, and shape. This antibody, produced in a polyclonal manner, recognizes both CFL1 and CFL2 proteins in human samples, allowing for their detection and analysis in Western blot experiments.CFL1 and CFL2 are key players in cytoskeletal remodeling, making them important targets for investigation in cell biology, cancer biology, and neuroscience studies.
By understanding the functions and regulation of these proteins, researchers can uncover valuable insights into processes such as cell migration, tissue morphogenesis, and neuronal development. The CFL1/CFL2 Antibody provides a reliable tool for exploring the roles of cofilins in health and disease, paving the way for advancements in therapeutic strategies targeting actin dynamics.

UniProt Protein Function: | Cofilin-1: a cytoskeletal protein that controls actin depolymerization. Has a 5-10-fold higher affinity for ATP-actin monomers than cofilin-1. May promote filament assembly rather than disassembly. Two alternatively spliced variants are described. Isoform b is expressed predominantly in skeletal muscle and heart, while isoform a is expressed in various tissues. |

NCBI Summary: | The protein encoded by this gene can polymerize and depolymerize F-actin and G-actin in a pH-dependent manner. Increased phosphorylation of this protein by LIM kinase aids in Rho-induced reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton. Cofilin is a widely distributed intracellular actin-modulating protein that binds and depolymerizes filamentous F-actin and inhibits the polymerization of monomeric G-actin in a pH-dependent manner. It is involved in the translocation of actin-cofilin complex from cytoplasm to nucleus.[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2004] |
