The CFB Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13243) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the complement system, specifically focusing on the CFB protein. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is validated for Western blot applications. By targeting the CFB protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in immunology and disease research.CFB is a key component of the complement system, a crucial part of the immune response responsible for recognizing and eliminating pathogens. Dysregulation of the complement system, including CFB, has been implicated in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders, inflammatory conditions, and infectious diseases.
By studying the activity of CFB, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these diseases and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for treatment. The CFB Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13243) offers researchers a reliable and specific tool for investigating the role of CFB in immune response modulation and disease pathogenesis. Its high reactivity and validated performance in Western blot applications make it an essential resource for advancing our understanding of the complement system and its implications for human health.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 80-420 of human Complement factor B (CFB) (NP_001701.2).
This gene encodes complement factor B, a component of the alternative pathway of complement activation. Factor B circulates in the blood as a single chain polypeptide. Upon activation of the alternative pathway, it is cleaved by complement factor D yielding the noncatalytic chain Ba and the catalytic subunit Bb. The active subunit Bb is a serine protease which associates with C3b to form the alternative pathway C3 convertase. Bb is involved in the proliferation of preactivated B lymphocytes, while Ba inhibits their proliferation. This gene localizes to the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class III region on chromosome 6. This cluster includes several genes involved in regulation of the immune reaction. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with a reduced risk of age-related macular degeneration. The polyadenylation site of this gene is 421 bp from the 5' end of the gene for complement component 2.
