The CEP97 Antibody (PAC016017) is a high-quality polyclonal antibody designed for research involving the centrosomal protein CEP97. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific and reactive with human samples, making it ideal for use in various research applications such as immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and Western blotting.CEP97 is a centrosomal protein that plays a crucial role in centrosome biogenesis and cell division. It is involved in the regulation of microtubule nucleation and stability, making it a key player in cell cycle progression and cell division.
Understanding the function of CEP97 is important for studying centrosome dynamics and cell division processes, which are relevant in cancer research and developmental biology. With its high specificity and reactivity, the CEP97 Antibody (PAC016017) enables accurate detection and analysis of CEP97 protein expression in various cell types and tissues. This antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying centrosome biology, cell division, and related processes, providing insights into the mechanisms underlying normal cellular function and disease progression.

Background:
Centrosomal protein of 97 kDa (Cep97), also known as leucine-rich repeat and IQ domain-containing protein 2 (LRRIQ2), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CEP97 gene. Acts as a key negative regulator of ciliogenesis in collaboration with CCP110 by capping the mother centriole thereby preventing cilia formation. Required for recruitment of CCP110 to the centrosome. Interacts with CALM1, CEP76 and CCP110. Via its interaction with CCP110, may indirectly interact with HERC2 and NEURL4. Interacts with KIF24.

UniProt Protein Function:
LRRIQ2: Collaborates with CCP110, being involved in the suppression of a cilia assembly program. Required for correct spindle formation and has a role in cytokinesis. Required for recruitment of CCP110 to the centrosome. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q12.3Cellular Component: centrosome; protein complex; cytoplasm; microtubule organizing center; cytosolMolecular Function: calmodulin binding; protein bindingBiological Process: cell projection organization and biogenesis; organelle organization and biogenesis
