The CENPE Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15263) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CENPE, a protein involved in cell division and chromosome segregation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CENPE protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for studies in cell biology and cancer research.
CENPE is a crucial player in mitosis, ensuring the proper alignment and segregation of chromosomes during cell division. Its role in maintaining genomic stability and proper cell division makes it a key target for research into cancer and other diseases related to cell proliferation. By understanding the function and regulation of CENPE, researchers can uncover potential therapeutic targets for cancer treatment and other disorders related to cell division.

Centrosome-associated protein E (CENPE) is a kinesin-like motor protein that accumulates in the G2 phase of the cell cycle. Unlike other centrosome-associated proteins, it is not present during interphase and first appears at the centromere region of chromosomes during prometaphase. This protein is required for stable spindle microtubule capture at kinetochores which is a necessary step in chromosome alignment during prometaphase. This protein also couples chromosome position to microtubule depolymerizing activity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct protein isoforms.
