The CDKN2C Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12418) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CDKN2C, a protein involved in cell cycle regulation and tumor suppression. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.CDKN2C, also known as p18, plays a crucial role in controlling cell division and proliferation by inhibiting cyclin-dependent kinases. Dysregulation of CDKN2C has been linked to various types of cancers, making it a potential target for cancer therapy research.
By targeting CDKN2C, researchers aim to better understand the mechanisms underlying cell cycle control and develop novel therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment. With its high reactivity and specificity, the CDKN2C Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for studying the role of CDKN2C in cancer development and progression. Its ability to detect and analyze CDKN2C protein in different cell types makes it an essential reagent for cancer biology and cell cycle research.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-168 of human CDKN2C/p18-INK4C (P42773).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the INK4 family of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors. This protein has been shown to interact with CDK4 or CDK6, and prevent the activation of the CDK kinases, thus function as a cell growth regulator that controls cell cycle G1 progression. Ectopic expression of this gene was shown to suppress the growth of human cells in a manner that appears to correlate with the presence of a wild-type RB1 function. Studies in the knockout mice suggested the roles of this gene in regulating spermatogenesis, as well as in suppressing tumorigenesis. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene, which encode an identical protein, have been reported.
