The CDKN2B Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5685) is a crucial tool for researchers studying CDKN2B, a gene involved in cell cycle regulation and tumor suppression. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CDKN2B protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it invaluable for studies in cancer biology and cell cycle regulation.
CDKN2B is a key player in cell cycle control, acting as a tumor suppressor by regulating cell proliferation and preventing abnormal cell growth. Its dysregulation has been linked to various cancers and other diseases, highlighting the importance of understanding its function. The CDKN2B Polyclonal Antibody is essential for investigating the role of this gene in cancer development and progression, ultimately paving the way for the development of targeted therapies and diagnostic tools.

This gene lies adjacent to the tumor suppressor gene CDKN2A in a region that is frequently mutated and deleted in a wide variety of tumors. This gene encodes a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor, which forms a complex with CDK4 or CDK6, and prevents the activation of the CDK kinases, thus the encoded protein functions as a cell growth regulator that controls cell cycle G1 progression. The expression of this gene was found to be dramatically induced by TGF beta, which suggested its role in the TGF beta induced growth inhibition. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene, which encode distinct proteins, have been reported.
