Description
CDKN1B Monoclonal Antibody [PAT7B9AT] (CPAB0238)
The CDKN1B Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0238) is a vital tool for researchers studying CDKN1B, a crucial cell cycle regulator involved in controlling cell proliferation and cell growth. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CDKN1B protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an indispensable resource for studies in cancer biology and cell cycle regulation.
CDKN1B, also known as p27, acts as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting cyclin-dependent kinase activity and mediating cell cycle arrest. Dysregulation of CDKN1B has been implicated in the development and progression of various cancers, highlighting its importance as a molecular target for therapeutic interventions. Understanding the function of CDKN1B is essential for developing novel treatment strategies aimed at controlling cell proliferation and promoting apoptosis in cancer cells.

Background: | Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1B (CDKN1B) is a member of the Cip/Kip family of cyclin dependent kinase (Cdk) inhibitor proteins. The CDKN1B protein binds to and prevents the activation of cyclin E-CDK2 or cyclin D-CDK4 complexes, and so controls the cell cycle progression at G1. CDKN1B is often referred to as a cell cycle inhibitor protein since its major function is to stop or slow down the cell division cycle. The degradation of the CDKN1B protein, which is triggered by its CDK dependent phosphorylation and ensuing ubiquitination by SCF complexes, is compulsory for the cellular transition from inactive to the proliferative state. |
