The CDK9 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1564) is a high-quality research tool for studying Cyclin Dependent Kinase 9 (CDK9), a key regulator of gene transcription and cell cycle progression. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has been validated for its specificity and sensitivity in Western blot applications, specifically targeting the CDK9 protein.CDK9 is a crucial kinase that forms the core of the positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) complex, which promotes RNA polymerase II-mediated transcription elongation. Dysregulation of CDK9 activity has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and HIV infection, making it an important target for therapeutic intervention.
Researchers studying gene expression, cell cycle control, and transcriptional regulation will benefit from using the CDK9 Polyclonal Antibody in their experiments. Its ability to specifically detect CDK9 protein in various cell types allows for precise analysis and characterization of CDK9 function, providing valuable insights into cellular processes and potential therapeutic targets.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the cyclin-dependent protein kinase (CDK) family. CDK family members are highly similar to the gene products of S. cerevisiae cdc28, and S. pombe cdc2, and known as important cell cycle regulators. This kinase was found to be a component of the multiprotein complex TAK/P-TEFb, which is an elongation factor for RNA polymerase II-directed transcription and functions by phosphorylating the C-terminal domain of the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II. This protein forms a complex with and is regulated by its regulatory subunit cyclin T or cyclin K. HIV-1 Tat protein was found to interact with this protein and cyclin T, which suggested a possible involvement of this protein in AIDS.
