The CDK8 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB9654) is a cutting-edge research tool designed for studying CDK8, a key regulator of gene transcription and cell growth. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for detecting CDK8 in human samples, making it a valuable asset in research on cell signaling pathways and oncogenesis. Validated for use in Western blot applications, this antibody enables precise detection and quantification of CDK8 protein levels in various cell types, facilitating insights into its role in cancer biology and other diseases.
CDK8, a member of the cyclin-dependent kinase family, is involved in modulating the activity of transcription factors and promoting cell proliferation. Dysregulation of CDK8 has been implicated in various cancers and developmental disorders, underscoring its importance as a therapeutic target. By investigating the function of CDK8 using this antibody, researchers can gain a deeper understanding of its molecular mechanisms and explore potential avenues for targeted therapies in cancer treatment and precision medicine.

This gene encodes a member of the cyclin-dependent protein kinase (CDK) family. CDK family members are known to be important regulators of cell cycle progression. This kinase and its regulatory subunit, cyclin C, are components of the Mediator transcriptional regulatory complex, involved in both transcriptional activation and repression by phosphorylation of the carboxy-terminal domain of the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II. This kinase regulates transcription by targeting the cyclin-dependent kinase 7 subunits of the general transcription initiation factor IIH, thus providing a link between the Mediator complex and the basal transcription machinery. Multiple pseudogenes of this gene have been identified. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
