The CDK5 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying CDK5, a crucial protein involved in cell cycle regulation and neuronal development. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it ideal for Western blot applications.CDK5, a cyclin-dependent kinase, plays a key role in regulating cell cycle progression and neuronal migration. Dysregulation of CDK5 has been implicated in various diseases, including neurological disorders and cancer.
By targeting CDK5 with this polyclonal antibody, researchers can investigate its function and potential therapeutic implications in these disease contexts. With its ability to detect and analyze CDK5 protein levels in various cell types, this antibody is essential for advancing research in neurobiology, oncology, and drug discovery. By studying CDK5 expression and activity, researchers can gain valuable insights into disease mechanisms and identify novel therapeutic targets for future treatments.

This gene encodes a proline-directed serine/threonine kinase that is a member of the cyclin-dependent kinase family of proteins. Unlike other members of the family, the protein encoded by this gene does not directly control cell cycle regulation. Instead the protein, which is predominantly expressed at high levels in mammalian postmitotic central nervous system neurons, functions in diverse processes such as synaptic plasticity and neuronal migration through phosphorylation of proteins required for cytoskeletal organization, endocytosis and exocytosis, and apoptosis. In humans, an allelic variant of the gene that results in undetectable levels of the protein has been associated with lethal autosomal recessive lissencephaly-7. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
