The CDK4 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for research involving CDK4, a pivotal cell cycle regulator that helps control cell division and proliferation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it suitable for Western blot applications. Its ability to bind to CDK4 protein allows for reliable detection and analysis in various cell types, making it a versatile tool for studies in cancer biology and cell cycle regulation.CDK4, also known as cyclin-dependent kinase 4, plays a crucial role in promoting cell cycle progression by phosphorylating key substrates involved in cell division. Dysregulation of CDK4 activity has been linked to various cancer types, making it a promising target for cancer therapy research.
Understanding the mechanisms of CDK4 activation and inhibition is essential for developing novel treatments that target aberrant cell proliferation pathways in cancer cells. Overall, the CDK4 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable resource for researchers investigating the role of CDK4 in cancer development and progression, as well as for those studying cell cycle control mechanisms in various cellular processes. By enabling specific and reliable detection of CDK4 protein, this antibody enhances the accuracy and efficiency of experimental studies in molecular and cellular biology.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. This protein is highly similar to the gene products of S. cerevisiae cdc28 and S. pombe cdc2. It is a catalytic subunit of the protein kinase complex that is important for cell cycle G1 phase progression. The activity of this kinase is restricted to the G1-S phase, which is controlled by the regulatory subunits D-type cyclins and CDK inhibitor p16(INK4a). This kinase was shown to be responsible for the phosphorylation of retinoblastoma gene product (Rb). Mutations in this gene as well as in its related proteins including D-type cyclins, p16(INK4a) and Rb were all found to be associated with tumorigenesis of a variety of cancers. Multiple polyadenylation sites of this gene have been reported.
