The CD8b Polyclonal Antibody (CAB3286) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the CD8b molecule, an important marker for cytotoxic T cells involved in immune response. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it ideal for use in immunology and cancer research studies.CD8b is a key component of the immune system, playing a crucial role in the activation and function of cytotoxic T cells which are critical for eliminating infected or cancerous cells. By targeting CD8b, researchers can accurately detect and analyze the presence of cytotoxic T cells in various cell types, providing insights into immune responses and potential therapeutic targets.
With its ability to bind specifically to the CD8b protein, this antibody enables precise detection and quantification of CD8b levels in different experimental settings, such as Western blot applications. Understanding the function and expression of CD8b can provide valuable information for the development of novel immunotherapies targeting cytotoxic T cells in cancer and infectious diseases.

The CD8 antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes that mediates efficient cell-cell interactions within the immune system. The CD8 antigen, acting as a coreceptor, and the T-cell receptor on the T lymphocyte recognize antigens displayed by an antigen presenting cell (APC) in the context of class I MHC molecules. The functional coreceptor is either a homodimer composed of two alpha chains, or a heterodimer composed of one alpha and one beta chain. Both alpha and beta chains share significant homology to immunoglobulin variable light chains. This gene encodes the CD8 beta chain isoforms. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct membrane associated or secreted isoforms have been described. A pseudogene, also located on chromosome 2, has been identified.
