The CD8a Polyclonal Antibody (CAB11856) is a crucial tool for researchers studying CD8a, a glycoprotein found on the surface of T cells that plays a key role in immune response regulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has been validated for use in Western blot applications and is highly reactive with human samples.CD8a is essential for the activation and function of cytotoxic T cells, which play a crucial role in the body's immune defense against viruses and cancer cells. By targeting the CD8a protein, researchers can better understand how T cells respond to antigens and how these responses can be modulated in various diseases.
With its high specificity and sensitivity, the CD8a Polyclonal Antibody is an excellent choice for studies in immunology, cancer research, and autoimmune disorders. By enabling the detection and analysis of CD8a in different cell types, this antibody is a valuable tool for advancing our understanding of immune responses and developing new therapeutic strategies.

The CD8 antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes that mediates efficient cell-cell interactions within the immune system. The CD8 antigen acts as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor on the T lymphocyte to recognize antigens displayed by an antigen presenting cell in the context of class I MHC molecules. The coreceptor functions as either a homodimer composed of two alpha chains or as a heterodimer composed of one alpha and one beta chain. Both alpha and beta chains share significant homology to immunoglobulin variable light chains. This gene encodes the CD8 alpha chain. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. The major protein isoforms of this gene differ by the presence or absence of a transmembrane domain and thus differ in being a membrane-anchored or secreted protein.
