The CD81 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB4863) is a high-quality antibody designed for research involving CD81, a cell surface protein involved in various cellular processes, including cell adhesion, migration, and signaling. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific and reactive with human samples, making it a valuable tool for studying CD81 expression and function in different cell types.CD81, also known as the target of the anti-proliferative antibody 1 (TAPA-1), is a key player in several cellular pathways, making it a promising target for research in areas such as immunology, cancer biology, and infectious diseases.
By binding to CD81, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of this protein, allowing for insights into its role in various cellular processes. The CD81 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody is validated for use in Western blot applications, providing reliable and accurate results for researchers studying CD81 in different experimental settings. With its high specificity and reactivity, this antibody is a valuable tool for those investigating the function and significance of CD81 in health and disease.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that is known to complex with integrins. This protein appears to promote muscle cell fusion and support myotube maintenance. Also it may be involved in signal transduction. This gene is localized in the tumor-suppressor gene region and thus it is a candidate gene for malignancies. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
