Description
CD8 Monoclonal Antibody, FITC [NYRmCD8] (CPAB0366)
The CD8 Antibody (FITC) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CD8, a critical cell surface marker involved in immune response regulation. This polyclonal antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in flow cytometry applications. It binds specifically to the CD8 protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis of CD8 expression in various cell types.CD8 is a marker of cytotoxic T cells, which play a crucial role in immune surveillance and defense against pathogens, as well as in the development of autoimmunity and tumor immunity.
Understanding CD8 expression and function is essential for studies in immunology, cancer research, and infectious diseases. The CD8 Antibody (FITC) is a powerful tool for researchers aiming to explore the role of CD8 in immune responses and develop targeted therapies for diseases involving CD8+ T cells.

Background: | CD8 is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes that mediates efficient cell-cell interactions within the immune system. CD8 acts as a co-receptor, and the T-cell receptor on the T lymphocyte recognize antigen displayed by an antigen presenting cell (APC) in the context of class I MHC molecules. The functional CD8 is either a homodimer composed of two alpha chains, or a heterodimer composed of one alpha and one beta chain. Both alpha and beta chains share significant homology to immunoglobulin variable light chains. CD8 identifies cytotoxic/suppressor t-cells that interact with MHC class I bearing targets. CD8 is thought to play a role in the process of t-cell mediated killing. CD8 alpha chains bind to class-I MHC molecules alpha-3 domains. |
