Description
CD8 Monoclonal Antibody, FITC [hCD8] (CPAB0298)
The CD8 Antibody (FITC) (CPAB0298) is a crucial tool for research involving the CD8 cell surface molecule, which plays a key role in cytotoxic T cell activation and immune response. This polyclonal antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in various applications, including flow cytometry and immunofluorescence.CD8, also known as the T-cell co-receptor, is essential for the recognition and elimination of infected or abnormal cells by the immune system. The CD8 Antibody (FITC) binds specifically to the CD8 protein, allowing for its detection and analysis in different cell types.
This makes it an ideal tool for studying the immune response in conditions such as infectious diseases, cancer, and autoimmune disorders.By understanding the role of CD8 in immune regulation and cytotoxic T cell function, researchers can gain valuable insights into the development of immunotherapies and treatments for various diseases. The CD8 Antibody (FITC) is a valuable resource for advancing our knowledge of immune responses and developing targeted therapies to improve patient outcomes.

Background: | CD8 is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes that mediates efficient cell-cell interactions within the immune system. CD8 acts as a co-receptor, and the T-cell receptor on the T lymphocyte recognize antigen displayed by an antigen presenting cell (APC) in the context of class I MHC molecules. The functional CD8 is either a homodimer composed of two alpha chains, or a heterodimer composed of one alpha and one beta chain. Both alpha and beta chains share significant homology to immunoglobulin variable light chains. CD8 identifies cytotoxic/suppressor t-cells that interact with MHC class I bearing targets. CD8 is thought to play a role in the process of t-cell mediated killing. CD8 alpha chains binds to class-I MHC molecules alpha-3 domains. |
